When Anita and Jams asked me to capture their “East meets West” wedding in Bristol, UK, I felt honored and very excited. I am always up for a challenge and love working at unique style weddings.
Chinese wedding games
In the morning, it was a great fun watching the groom and his groomsmen to face various challenges. They had to play games so that the groom could reunite with his bride. Firstly the boys put red lipstick on, then tried unpleasant food and finally played a quiz. Consequently James was finally allowed to enter the house and see his beautiful bride.
Anita was waiting, dressed in a stunning traditional Chinese red gown. Now they could get ready for a tea ceremony, where the would get special greetings from their closets family members.
De Vere Tortworth Court
After the tea ceremony, we all moved to De Vere Tortworth Court, Wotton-under-Edge for the english style wedding ceremony. Anita looked gorgeous in her fitted wedding dress from Pronovias and a long veil.
The ceremony took place in a stunning building of The Torthowth Court Orangery – a grade II listed conservators built in XIX century.
Torthworth Court cocktail hour
After the ceremony we moved to the Tortworh Court garden for the cocktail hour. The guests enjoyed sparkling wine and doughnuts, and had great fun playing on a bouncy castle – Anita and James love children.
Chinese wedding reception
For the reception we moved to a traditional Chinese restaurant, Water Sky. We were there served a great selection of delicious Chinese dishes. After the dinner everyone moved to a dance floor so we could watch the first dance. Consequently all guests joined in dancing. The bride changed into a beautiful red dress and also the bride and groom wore matching trainers.
