Chateau Terre Blanche, France
In the foothills of the Pyrenees, in the medieval village of Chalabre, there is a charming chateau, Terre Blanche. The chateau is beautifully renovated, maintaining it’s early XX style. Today, Terre Blanche has become a stunning wedding venue and luxury hotel.

Vintage style
We especially loved the chateau’s vintage floral wallpapers. Their bold colours and patterns create a unique style for each room, keeping a luxurious and harmonious look throughout the chateau.

Wedding photo editorial
Our team was inspired by the traditional and elegant style of Chateau Terre Blanche. We created a vintage glam wedding editorial, featuring Rosa Clara wedding dresses and local products and suppliers.

Bridal preparations
The largest bedroom at Terre Blanche, called ‘Montsegur’, is a dream place for bridal preparations and a romantic honeymoon suite. It’s high, ornate ceiling and suspended crystal chandelior take your breath away as you enter the room. Likewise, a unique carved wooden fireplace, vintage furniture and a stained glass window make a great statement.

Rosa Clara Vintage style wedding dress
Our bride is wearing two Rosa Clara dresses, selected by Emilie Delorme from Les Rubens de Leopoldine. The first gown, for the formal ceremony, is a Gatsby style, elegant figure hugging dress. The dress is perfect for an elegant and sentimental bride. A bride who knows her style and loves tradition. Thousands of beads and hand made embroidery make it an impressive masterpiece in every tiny detail.

Rose gold jewellery
To complete the vintage glam look, we choose delicate rose gold and diamond jewelery set from Bijouterie Mohedano: earrings, necklace and a matching ring. The floral style of the jewelery adds a vintage and feminine touch.

Bridal make up in a vintage style
The bride looks stunning wearing her vintage glam make up. Porcelain skin, red lips and defined eye line were carefully applied by a talented local Make up artist, Deb Stewart. Soft peach eyeshadow and subtle blush finish the elegant and feminine look.

Vintage glam curls
The beautiful bride and handsome groom were both styled by talented hairstylist Annette Carr. A deep side parting with cascading, glamorous waves, fitted perfectly with the bride’s vintage style dress. A touch of elegance was added with a delicate, fresh flower comb carefully placed to enhance the look.

Groom’s preparations
The groom is getting ready in the ‘Lastours’ room. It is a spacious, luxurious bedroom with a statement wallpaper of red flowers and impressive vintage oak furniture.

Chateau Terre Blanche garden
Situated in the heart of the village, Terre Blanche contains a vast garden, surrounded by stone walls. Its grand with a variety of trees and flowers, together with a beautiful terrace, make a perfect place for an elopement wedding ceremony and an elegant reception.

Chateau garden wedding ceremony
The chateau garden is a beautiful place for a wedding ceremony. The bride walks down the aisle shaded by trees. She passes an ancient fountain and fragrant flower beads. The groom waits by a beautiful flower arch – a ceremony set up centrepiece made by Sarah Menager. The florist used roses and foliage for a poetic and romantic, but natural look.

Vintage bridal bouquet
To add a vintage and luxurious feel to the wedding, Sarah created the stunning floral decor and bridal bouquet using burgundy antique roses and foliage.

Personalised wedding ceremony
A celebrant, Robert Hendry, from Wedding Words & Wishes, runs a personalised ceremony for the couple. Rob tells some sentimental stories of the bride and groom, and adds humorous anecdotes to relax the newlyweds and the guests. He also reveals interesting, wedding related stories, for example the symbolism of the wedding rings. The celebrant can also add symbolical rituals during his service. For example, to make it even more special, bride and groom can sip champagne from one glass, or light a candle together.

Artisan wedding rings
For the wedding and engagement rings, Marie-Laure from Mohedano chooses white gold and diamond set. The rings feature artisan, fine finish. As Marie-Laure describes: “Elegance and sobriety for Monsieur, Glamour for Madame.”

Chateau cocktail hour
For the cocktail hour, the wedding guests can gather at the chateau terrace. A local distillery provided artisan gin. La Distillerie du Sud blends the best juniper from the Pyrenees and home grown herbs for the most sustainable process and sensational flavoring of their drinks. To add a personal touch, the gin bottles have custom made labels.

Decarative canapés
Dotty’s Kitchen Catering prepared a selection of beautiful looking, delicious canapés. Using only local and seasonal ingredients, the caterers make magic with food. The canapés and nibbles are not only very tasty but also look attractive.

Wedding reception at the orangery
The wedding reception takes place in the chateau’s orangery. It is a stunning, bright space with large windows decorated with a unique steel frame. Black chairs and table make a great statement here.

Painterly wedding table set up
Sarah suggested two possible table set ups for the room. Firstly, a romantic table decor with fresh grapes, figs and roses. The fruit and flowers on a bare, black table have a still life painterly quality, especially together with an antique dinner set and crystals. The beautiful table stationery made by Promesse Graphique finishes the elegant look.

Vintage wedding table set up
In the alternative set up, Sarah uses white table linen. With tall candles and sweet rose bouquets in small silver vases, Sarah created a romantic and elegant decor, inspired by vintage weddings. Hand made stationery with rough edges looks remarkable. The vintage dinner set and crystal glasses add an extra charm to the decor.

Rosa Clara soft boho wedding dress
The dinner dress for our bride is another gorgeous Rosa Clara creation. Maintaining the vintage and elegant style, this dress also has some bohemian quality and a romantic flow. It is all thanks to its floral motif lace top and a stunning tulle bottom, made of dozens of layers. Delicate, soft and romantic, we especially love to see its movement.

Floral inspired artisan jewellery
A handcrafted jewellery set from Distinctly Caitlin Designs is a charming addition to the dress. The bride wears a silver bracelet with a poetic floral motif. The stunning earrings are gold and silver, featuring an impressive quartz gem. All pieces were inspired by Pyrenean flowers.

Romantic chateau in France
Chateau Terre Blanche is a perfect place for a charming small to medium size wedding in Southern France. We love how the newlyweds and their guests can use the chateau and it’s gorgeous garden for the occasion and their holidays.
